Teaching Artists:

Paul Brophy is the originator and co-host of the Write On Critique Group, a mutual help meeting where writers help their peers improve their work via edits and constructive comments. Brophy’s writing is mainly creative nonfiction and memoir. He is happy to convert his many years of writing memos and reports to more diverse endeavors. While practicing city planning, Brophy co-authored three books and edited a fourth. His current writing interests focus on spirituality, old age, and humorous pieces, which he occasionally shares at the Tambourine Lounge Writers’ Night. Brophy splits his time between Egg Harbor and Baltimore, Maryland.

Melissa Resch is an educator, writer, and visual artist. In 2017, after traveling to all 50 states and residing on five continents, Resch settled in Door County, WI. Her quest for adventure continues through visual art and written word. Resch’s art is featured in her downtown Sturgeon Bay studio and House of Crain in Baileys Harbor. Her current writing project is memoir, about her unconventional childhood and decision as a young adult to leave fundamental evangelicalism. She teaches a women’s monthly Write On, Door County class and participates in several others. Resch also presents regularly at the Tambourine Lounge Writer’s Night open mic. melissaresch.com
