Hike & Write Trail Program

Our Hike & Write Series takes place on the trails at the new Writing Center in Juddville. Each season, there will be a new theme for hikes, ideal for families, individuals, and those looking for a safe, beautiful, outdoor activity.

Activity booklets that guide visitors on a hike are available at the trailhead and by clicking on the buttons below.

The half-mile loop starts behind the Writing Center at 4210 Juddville Road and, with activities, takes about an hour to walk and write. No reservations necessary. The Writing Center building is open to the public Wednesday - Monday 10 am - 3 pm. Restroom facilities for hikers only available during open hours.

Along the path, hikers will see carved cedar benches, all of them gifts from generous members of the Write On family.

The carved cedar benches were created by Norman Wiedemeier.

The etched brass nature plaques were created by Mary Ellen Sisulak.

As you go, discover what makes each bench special.

This booklet highlights just five tree species along the trail: Birch, Aspen, White Pine, Cedar, and Red Oak. These trees are plentiful across the landscape, but we’ve marked a few places on the map where you’ll be sure to find them.
