Write Your Own Adventure Book Workshop with Laura Paisley Beck

What a perfect book format to illustrate the benefits and ramifications of one’s decisions than a Choose Your Own Adventure book or, as Laura Paisley Beck coined, an Interchangeable Action Novel© (IAN). Weave your own book of multiple endings with Beck’s tips, tricks, and super-secret codes in this fun, interactive workshop. Bring your wild imagination, story ideas, character sketches, and writing tools. We’ll take time to practice a few micro chapters in group writing sprints and learn from each other’s creative capactiy.

Class meets in person Saturday, September 14, 10 am – noon

Teaching Artist:

Laura Paisley Beck was born and raised in Door County and currently resides in Madison. She has written articles and columns for a variety of publications, including Peninsula Pulse, Door County Living, Natural Awakenings Magazine, and a collaborative business book, We Wish We Had Known, Volumes I and II. In March, 2020, she was a writer-in-residence at Write On, where she worked on her recently published debut novel, Licensed to Sell, an Interchangeable Action Novel© (IAN) in which an insurance agent acts like a secret agent. She currently owns Wa’am Writes, LLC, where she creates marketing content for social organizations to boost their mission towards a safe, diverse, equitable, inclusive world.
