Delve into both unique and ordinary family memories using stories we’ve been told, objects and artifacts, letters, diaries, world history, and more to discover and create compelling children’s stories that have a universal appeal. Deborah will share examples of the research she has done on her own family’s history and the picture book manuscript that was born out of that process. In addition, we’ll study notable, award-winning examples of children’s books that are rooted in the author’s family history.

Class meets in person Tuesday, June 9, 10 am – noon.

Class size: Minimum 5. Maximum 15.
