Writing the Truth of Our Lives is a year-long mentoring program for women who want to write but who have felt intimidated or discouraged from doing so. Throughout 2023, thirteen women met monthly with facilitators/mentors Ann Heyse and Tori Martinez. They discussed the skill and practice of writing, experimented with multiple genres, and received and gave encouragement and constructive feedback.
These women will read from work they wrote at some point during the year. A variety of genres will be represented: poetry, fiction, memoir, nature writing, narratives, and persuasive writing. Light refreshments will be served after the reading. The program is free and open to all ages.
