The unexamined life is not worth living
Using the Socratic method, participants ask open-ended questions as a way to challenge their existing beliefs and learn from discussions with one another. Philosopher Hannah Arendt believed a robust public sphere of discussion is vital for the future of society.
Door County’s Socrates Cafe was started by Krystal Klapatch, a philosophy professor at Mount Mary College, and her grandmother, Sister Bay resident Donna M. Johnson.
Socrates Cafe is held at Write On the second and fourth Thursday of every month, except when a holiday. All are welcome. No previous attendance is required.
