Not only can editing tighten and polish writing, it also provides an opportunity for writers to take chances, try new voices, and consider bigger picture changes to their work. In this workshop, we’ll write a short “snapshot” story and revise it many different ways: by changing the voice, tone, perspective, and genre. The teaching artist will also provide proofreading tips and show how her own work has changed while working with editors. The goal of the workshop is for participants to become better at self-editing, on alert for our writing tics and prepared to “kill our darlings” in the name of a more compelling, meaningful product.
Class meets in person, Monday, April 10, noon – 3 pm.
Class size: Limited to 12. Minimum 5.
Member discount: Member of Write On receive a 10% discount on all classes and workshops. To become a member, please click here.
