Memoir Monday: SPECIAL EDITION

Write On is pleased to present a special two-hour session of Memoir Monday with our writer-in-residence, Sarah Klenbort. This session is free but registration is required as space is limited.

Whether you’ve already completed the first draft of a memoir or have yet to write a word, this session will help you develop ideas and polish your life writing. We will begin by looking closely at examples of memoirs by established writers, then quickly move on to write our own. There will be opportunites to share stories and receive feedback in an encouraging classroom environment. We’ll examine the elements of a good memoir and finish with information on publishing opportunities.

Class meets in-person, Monday, June 30, 10 am – noon

Class size: Minimum 4. Maximum 15.

Cost: This session is presented at no cost (goodwill donations accepted) but registration is required as space is limited.

Teaching Artist: Sarah Klenbort grew up in an old house in Atlanta with too many books and not enough cleaning products. She lives in Meanjin (Brisbane), Australia, where she teaches creative writing at the University of Queensland and memoir writing at the local library. Sarah is a prize-winning writer who has published more than 40 short pieces in Guardian Australia, Best Australian Stories, Mslexia, Aesthetica, Overland, Drunken Boat, Eureka Street, and other publications.
