We will explore the basics of “showing not telling” whie writing stories, poems, and personal essays. We will respond to several prompts and try easy-to-follow exercises to spark our creativity in the most satisfying ways.

Class meets in person Tuesday, June 16 10 am – noon.

Class size: Minimum 5, maximum 15.

Teaching Artist: Lisa M. Hase-Jackson is author of Insomnia in Another Town (Clemson University Press 2024), and Flint and Fire (The Word Works 2019). Her poems appear or are forthcoming in Sugar House Review, Chiron Review, and Cimarron Review. She is a Visiting Assistant Professor in Creative Writing at the University of Pittsburgh.
