CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF JAMES MIHALEY

The Write On family was saddened to learn of the passing of our dear friend James Mihaley earlier this year. Jim had approached me in 2015 about the possibility of leading a writing and yoga retreat at Write On. What began as a program with just a few participants was regularly filled to capacity in recent years. Jim had a talent and a passion for bringing out people’s creativity and building their confidence. It was a tremendous gift he had and he was generous in sharing it with others. There were many loyal participants who annually took his retreat, finding more inspiration during that week than in the rest of the year.

Jim spent a significant part of his childhood in Door County and graduated valedictorian from Sturgeon Bay High School. Jim was scheduled to return to Write On again this summer to lead the retreat. Write On will hold a celebration of Jim’s life on the day he was due to arrive, Saturday, July 27, at 11 am. We invite all to join us as we remember Jim and share stories of our time with him.
