Explore the possibilities of braided narrative in writing your life stories or memoir. We’ll read and discuss examples of braided narrative and participants will use generative writing exercises to discover an example(s) of figures or themes to illuminate and complicate the life story they would like to share. Using generative exercises, discussion, and reflection, participants will begin to discover those moments and themes that are most potent and powerful, allowing them to recognize how the combination of two seemingly random stories allows deeper insight into not only their own lives, but often the nature of memory and experience itself.

Class meets in person Tuesday, August 4, 6 – 8 pm.

Class size: Minimum 5, maximum 15.
