Are We Listening: Public Art and the Sturgeon Bay Community

Write On’s Founding and Artistic Director Jerod Santek will be among the panelists at this afternoon’s discussion of public art.

Curious about art in public spaces in Sturgeon Bay? Join members of the Sturgeon Bay Local Arts Board and keynote speaker, Anne Katz, Director, Create Wisconsin for a presentation and round table conversation. This public engagement will provide information about Sturgeon Bay’s commitment in supporting public art and answer questions pertaining to the role of public art in the community.

In addition to Anne Katz’s keynote talk, the afternoon will include a welcome by Sturgeon BayMayor David Ward; comments by artist Rebecca Carlton and Suzanne Miller, City of Sturgeon Bay Administrative Assistant and a conversation with Local Arts Board members Helen Bacon, Board Chair and Alder for Sturgeon Bay; Margaret Lockwood, artist and owner of Margaret Lockwood Gallery; melaniejane, co-owner/manager of Holiday Music Motel; Claire Morkin, singer and actress; Jerod Santek, Founding and and Artistic Director, Write On, Door County; and Stephanie Trenchard, artist and co-owner of Popelka Trenchard Glass.
