In this workshop, we will look at different approaches to creating a memorable piece of writing. Using the woods and the land around Write On, Door County as a background and theme, we will discuss the many different ways to build a narrative—realistic, descriptive, magical, fantastical, prose or poetry. Your imagination will take you in all kinds of different directions as you write, create, and explore.
Teaching Artist: Fiona McCrae was the publisher of Graywolf Press from 1994 – 2022. She has served as Vice Chair of the National Book Foundation, as an advisor to Orion Magazine, and on the boards of several literary arts organizations. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband, author John Coy.
Class meets Monday – Friday, July 8 – 12, 1 – 4 pm.
Class size: Minimum 5, maximum 12.
