WE REGRET THAT THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN CANCELLED.

Write On and StoryStudio Chicago have collaborated on a residency program. We are pleased to welcome three of the writers in their various In-A-Year Book programs: Camille Beredjick, Özge Gunday, and Jonathan Jones. Join us for coffee, light refreshments, and a conversation with these three talented writers.

Camille Beredjick is a queer and nonbinary writer based in Chicago. Her essays have been published in Catapult, BuzzFeed, Narratively, Bustle, Autostraddle, Mic, HuffPost, and elsewhere. She is also the author of Queer Disbelief: Why LGBTQ Equality is an Atheist Issue. You can read her work at camilleberedjick.com or follow her on Twitter @cberedjick.

After working for 10 years as a management consultant and computer programmer for a large consulting company, Özge Gunday decided to change careers and write books for children. She took writing classes at the University of Chicago Graham School, went to SCBWI conferences, joined a critique group and was accepted to StoryStudio’s middle grade/young adult Novel In A Year program. She is working on a middle grade book that takes place in Turkey, where she is originally from, about a girl who has to spend summer with a grandfather she hardly knows. Özge lives in California with her husband, three daughters, and two cats.

Jonathan Winston Jones is a queer social scientist and writing living in Chicago. He has published essays in The Sun and Ploughshares and has an MFA from Northwestern University. Jones hold master’s degrees in public policy and human rights and was a Fulbright Scholar to the United Kingdom.
