Great work is often unrecognizable from an author’s first draft. How do you know what to keep and what to discard when approaching revisions? In this session, we will discuss the revision process, share strategies for diagnosing problems in our work, and explore techniques that will bring greater clarity and purpose to the next draft. This session will challenge you to look beyond line edits and generate big-picture ideas. It is perfect for anyone who has ever received feedback that something isn’t working in their piece or simply isn’t sure how to approach their next draft. By the end of our time together, you’ll walk away with a series of prompts, reflective questions, and exercises that will help you move through the murky process of revision and take your work one step closer to publication. While you are welcome and encouraged to bring a draft of your latest project to class, you do not need to have a completed piece of work to attend or benefit from this interactive session.
