Celebrate the publication of Madison-based poet Catherine Jagoe’s latest collection, Praying to the God of Small Things. Joining Catherine will be Door County poets Sharon Auberle and Alessandra Simmons Rolffs.

Sharon Auberle is a writer and amateur photographer who lives in Door County, Wisconsin. She served as the county Poet Laureate for 2017–2019 and her work has appeared in numerous publications, online magazines, and a number of anthologies. Auberle is the author of a memoir in poetry and four collections containing her poems and artwork. “Dovetail” — her collaboration with poet Jeanie Tomasko won the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets Chapbook of the Year Award in 2018.

Catherine Jagoe is a British American writer and translator. Her short nonfiction has garnered a Pushcart prize and citation in Best American Essays, and appears in journals such as Gettysburg Review, Fourth Genre, TriQuarterly, Under the Sun, Hawai’i Pacific Review, Ninth Letter, American Athenaeum, Best of Belt Magazine, and Water~Stone Review. Her latest book is an ecopoetry collection, Praying to the God of Small Things, published by Kelsay Books (April 2024). Her website is www.catherinejagoe.com.

Alessandra Simmons Rolffs is a poet, editor, and gardener living on Washington Island, WI. Her freelance writing and editing clients include the Environmental Defense Fund, Leadership Story Lab, Pandion Music Foundation, and thought leaders who want to share their expertise with wider audiences through writing and publishing. Her poetry and essays have been published in The Southern Review, Spillway, About Place Journal and elsewhere. She is the executive director of Gathering Ground, a nonprofit with a focus on sustainable farming education. She is the mother of two boys who you may find running around the island with uncombed hair.
