Topics All-Genre Writing
In this in-depth writing workshop, students will explore different research elements that will challenge them to craft a character-driven story. Both fiction and non-fiction require research. Even when creating a character that captures your reader’s attention, there are unique behaviors and traits that make your main character interesting and likable even though your readers might not agree with the choices they made.
Teaching Artist: Baptiste Paul is the award-winning author of The Field, To Carnival, I Am Farmer: Growing an Environmental Movement in Cameroon, and Dear Your Dream Big. His works have been given many starred reviews from Kirkus, Booklist, and School Library Journal. In addition to being an author and storyteller, he is a dad and a sports fan (loves soccer!). He enjoys sharing his island culture and Kweyol/Creole language with anyone who will listen. He also enjoys roasting his own coffee and making his own chocolate bars.
