Join author Sally Collins for an afternoon of tapping into your own experiences and memories to create compelling, complex, and authentic fiction, no matter the genre. “Write what you know,” the old saying goes — but sometimes it’s a struggle. Over the course of the workshop, you will examine the fiction of authors throughout the ages and across genres who relied on personal experience to ground and shape their tales, then engage in memory exercises and writing prompts to break down mental barriers and find inspiration in your personal history. The class will end with discussion and a new toolbox for finding rich fictional stories within yourself.

Class meets in-person, Tuesday, May 13, 1 – 2:30 pm.

Class size: Minimum 5. Maximum 15.
