Quality writing is quality writing, no matter your age. While sudden successes do happen, the reality for most writers is tht the path to publication may take years, or even decades. What are the obstacles you might face as an older writer? How do you define success as a writer? How will you know what you can accomplish if you never start? Adam Sleper will address these questions and share his experiences both positive and negative, of his journey as a writer.

Adam Sleper is a professional writer originally from Omaha. Adam earned a B.A. in English from the University of Nebraska and an M.A. in English from Boston College, and spent a semester at Oxford University in England studying Shakespeare. Adam is a Launch Pad Prose 100 and multiple Illinois artists grant recipient. As a screenwriter, he is a Page and Austin Film Fest finalist and has had multiple scripts score top 1% on the prestigious Black List. He is in the process of completing his second novel manuscript. Adam’s publications include Literal Latte, The Denver Post, and Midwest Review. He lives outside of Chicago with his wife, a civil rights attorney, their two kids, and an adorable dog.
