During this week-long intensive with Toya Wolfe, participants will take a deep dive into writing fiction:

Monday: Welcome and Introductions: Let’s get to know one another a bit, discuss the roadmap for the week, and write something to kick things off!

Tuesday: Anatomy of a Scene: Every scene has a beginning, middle, and end, but what makes each compelling? And why are some parts hard than others to write?

Wednesday: Outlines, Beats Sheets, and Arranging Scenes: Of plotting and planning: whether you are someone who outlines meticulously or prefers to freestyle within a loose structure, we’ll experiment with jotting down where your book could go–even if you’re not committed to those plans just yet.

Thursday: Your Story, Your Voice: We’ll identify what makes your characters–and your story as a whole–unique and explore why you might be holding back.

Friday: Revision Strategies & Musings on Messy First Drafts: As a send-off, I will share some tools for revising as well as tips for charging toward the end of your first draft.
