Join us for our third annual Writing and Yoga Retreat led by poet and yoga instructor James Mihaley, with guest instructors. Relax your mind and body as you practice yoga on the beach and on the farm and find inspiration for your writing in the woods and on the shores of Green Bay.
Get in tune with nature and with your self as you explore the natural beauty of Door County and apply your attentiveness to your own writing. Through yoga and meditation, laughter and communion with nature, we will dismantle the belief that being hard on your self is the only way to improve as a writer.
Participants will practice yoga on the beach and on the farm and will find inspiration for their writing in such diverse settings as a sculpture garden, a llama farm, the woods, the bluffs.
Optional social activities, including meals and a sharing of work are included in the week. Schedule will vary daily, with some mornings focused on yoga and afternoons on writing and other days beginning with writing and ending with restorative yoga and meditation.
In order to ensure a supportive and intimate class, enrollment is limited to 12. The retreat is held at various locations throughout the Fish Creek and Egg Harbor areas.
James Mihaley grew up in Door County and currently resides in Los Angeles. He is a certified yoga instructor and poet and the author of “The New Yogi Manifesto,” hailed around Los Angeles as the definitive yoga poem of this generation. Mihaley is also an award winning children’s author, published by Macmillan. He incorporates humor into everything he does and has great faith in the power of laughter.
