The selection for 2020 is Leif Enger's novel Virgil Wander.  After a car accident, the title character suffers memory loss and struggles to reconstruct his past. Set in the small town of Greenstone on Minnesota's Lake Superior shore, Virgil Wander is a bittersweet chronicle of a tightknit community with quirky characters, all-American values, and movie classics. Write On and Northern Sky Theater collaborate on offering in-school creative writing workshops at area elementary, middle, and high schools. Using fun-filled prompts and activities, we will encourage students to write on the theme of nature. Writing workshops will take place throughout winter and spring. Representatives from Write On and Northern Sky will collect these writings and select a number to be adapted to music. As part of the Door County Reads program, Peninsula Players presents a reading of James Hindman's dramatic comedy, "Popcorn Falls." The sleepy town of Popcorn Falls is forced into bankruptcy when a neighboring town threatens to turn them into a sewage treatment plant. Their only hope – open a theater!
