Write On, Door County is pleased to partner with Margaret Lockwood Gallery on Art/Speaks, a free writing lab encouraging people to write in response to the images on exhibit. Led by poet Francha Barnard, these 60-minute writing activities are perfect for both beginning and advanced writers in any genre. Sessions are offered quarterly throughout the year. To celebrate National Poetry Month, we have asked members of our beloved Door County community to share one of their favorite poems. CELEBRATE POETRY! Online Reading

Write On is a proud member of the Wisconsin Poet Laureate Commission. Current Poet Laureate, Margaret Rozga, was scheduled for a residency at Write On in mid-March, which had to be canceled, along with her reading and conversation. She, along with former state and several regional Poets Laureate will celebrate National Poetry Month with a special online reading sponsored by the Madison Public Library and the Wisconsin Book Festival. We regret that these programs have been cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns and school closures. Write On and Northern Sky Theater collaborate on offering in-school creative writing workshops at area elementary, middle, and high schools. Using fun-filled prompts and activities, we will encourage students to write on the theme of nature. Writing workshops will take place throughout winter and spring. Representatives from Write On and Northern Sky will collect these writings and select a number to be adapted to music.…
