Tuesday, October 29, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Whether we write for our own eyes only or for publication and many readers, writing invites us to unwrap the gifts of both memory and imagination, seeing not only what has been and what is now, but also the extraordinary possibilities of what might still come to pass with our creative engagement.

In this guided writing program, author Karen Hering offers writing prompts and activities to explore the creative energy available wherever memory and imagination meet. For emerging or experienced writers alike. Bring something to write with and on. The rest will be provided.

Karen-Hering-200Writer and teacher Karen Hering has been immersed in the work of words for most of her life. She is an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister, chaplain and author of Writing to Wake the Soul: Opening the Sacred Conversation Within. Serving as consulting literary minister in St. Paul, Minnesota, Karen leads guided writing sessions, retreats and communications workshops in community, congregational and workplace settings. Her writing has appeared in literary journals, periodicals and meditation anthologies, and her interest in the transformative power of words has spurred her to lead a Nicaraguan literary tour exploring the role of poetry, literature and imagination in movements for social change.
