MEMOIR CLASS: Self-Reflection Writing

June 7 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Discover inner revelations by examining visual art

SELF-REFLECTION WRITING THROUGH EXAMINING AN ART WORK

Everyone carries an autobiography within themselves. Discover some inner revelations about yourself by selecting a work of art that speaks to you and write why you selected the work. Unpeel the layers of your preferences, passions and things in the artwork that may trigger cherished memories. Cynthia Kukla has been a lifelong artist and an art critic for 40+ years. She finds writing expressively about art is as joyful as it is revelatory. We will spark this activity by visiting the Edgewood Orchard Galleries in Fish Creek which has regional and national artists’ work in many inspiring mediums. After picking art that resonates with you, we return to Write On to spontaneously write how we are experiencing the art work and why. Cynthia will have her artist’s book which pairs her writings with her artwork as a sample along with copies of art reviews she has written.

This session will take place at both Write On, Door County and Edgewood Orchard Galleries, less than a 5-minute drive from Write On.

Tuition for the three-hour workshop is $30.00. Write On members receive a 10% discount. To become a member and save, please click here.
