PROSE READING WITH PAUL LISICKY
Our members are the key to our success and we are so grateful for your support. As a way of saying thank you, we present a series of readings with nationally acclaimed artists that are open only to our members. These late afternoon gatherings are the perfect way to begin your evening. Wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and light refreshments will be available, with great company guaranteed. This month, we are proud to present award-winning prose writer Paul Lisicky in an intimate reading and conversation with you, our members.
Paul Lisicky is the author of six books, including Later: My Life at the Edge of the World (an NPR Best Book of 2020), The Narrow Door (a New York Times Editors’ Choice and finalist for the Randy Shilts Award), Unbuilt Projects, The Burning House, Famous Builder, and Lawnboy. His work has appeared in The Atlantic, Conjunctions, The Cut, Fence, The New York Times, Ploughshares, and elsewhere.
His awards include fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundations, The National Endowment for the Arts, The Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, where he has served on the Writing Committee since 2000. He has taught at Cornell University, Sarah Lawrence College, New York University, The University of Texas at Austin, and elsewhere. He currently is the director of the MFA Program at Rutgers University-Camden, where he is an Associate Professor, and editor of the magazine StoryQuarterly. He lives in Brooklyn. He recently completed his next book, The Inner Anton of Me.
