LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD
WRITING EFFECTIVE LETTERS TO YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS: CHILD CARE EDITION
Write On is pleased to partner with the United Way of Door County to present a free, two-part program on writing letters to elected officials that have impact. This particular session focuses on the issue of child care.
Learn effective strategies to communicate your concerns, opinions, and requests about child care to your elected representatives through written communication. In addition, the workshop will help you increase the chances your message is really read, understood, and impactful in the way you want it to be.
The first session will focus on thinking about your goals and your personal story, and will work to combine those into your message in writing (e.g., an email or letter). The workshop will include time for writing and sharing of feedback among participants.
The second session will provide participants the opportunity to share drafts of letters for feedback and editing help. The second session is voluntary; you must have attended the first session in order to attend the second. The second session will be held on Tuesday, May 4, 6:30 – 8 pm.
The program will be presented virtually and is limited to 25 participants. Registration is handled by United Way. To register for the program, email Christina Studebaker or call United Way at 920.746.9645.
