A Joint Offering from Write On, Door County and Learning in Retirement

The Coop 7Norbert Blei — essayist, poet, journalist, teacher, publisher, painter, thinker, lover of Door County and community — passed away in 2013. The words on his gravestone instruct us: “Find me in my books.” Laurel Hauser will lead a two-day class examining Blei’s work.┬áThe class will meet in Blei’s converted chicken coop/writing studio, now located on Write On’s property, to read passage of Blei’s writing and discuss the themes he spent a lifetime exploring, themes that have altered or defined how many of us see and understand Door County.┬áLunch at the Coyote Roadhouse in Baileys Harbor will follow Tuesday’s class for anyone interested. A list of brief readings will be provided prior to the class.

Some walking is required; access to the Coop is limited. The class is limited to 1o participants. Registration is handled through Learning In Retirement. Phone: 920-746-4947.
