I shared earlier that The Clearing had declined the offer to take stewardship of it, for reasons only they might know, but the writing muses were at work conjuring up their magic, for in the end, the most perfect place for the Coop turns out to be: in Juddville.
Anne Emerson of Edgewood Orchard Gallery stepped forth, urging the new Write On, Door County be considered for the Coop’s continuing home. After serious deliberation, Norb’s son Christopher and daughter Bridget, agreed. On August 26, 2014, the Coop made its way from Ellison Bay to Juddville with great thanks to Jeff Weborg and John Fitzerald and his crew, all donating their services.
The rightness of this placement is profound: not only does Write On sense the way in which the Coop should be preserved and honored – but used! Here, the Coop will live on as a place for writers to work in the alchemy our beloved Norbert brewed within the cedar scented walls. As well, the surrounding “woods totems” & wonderment Norbert set about the grounds on Europe Lake Road will be moved and placed in continuing fellowship with the spirit therein.
Norb had spent time with Anne as she developed & defined her dream for Write On, offering not only his insight and vision, but his teaching in a future he could not stay to share. There is no question in my soul that this is the spot he would want the Coop to be–where it will continue as a working, loving space.
