Who’d have thought that words would escape a writer jotting in this book? Setting the Write On experience in language is a challenge. We live in a world that’s every hurried and harried, that offers no time to reflect and breathe and be, but you’ve carved out an oasis here in Door County — a place where I can do those things, can leave behind the busy-ness of the everyday world to focus on my craft without interruption or obligation and in doing so, you’ve allowed me to get the start I needed on my next book.
Thank you for the time and space, for Norb Blei’s wonderful coop, for the hummingbird who visited me daily at the window above that wonderful table with its taped down addresses. Thank you to Jerod, to Maggie, Deb, Bill and the rest of the board — you’ve captured lightning in a jar that can will be harnessed for the good of not only writers like myself, but for the good of those who want to write, who want to read, who want to tap the essential energy of stories in all their forms.
Continue this journey, as your path will, I know, intersect with those of others who share your vision and passion. The synergy of those intersections will certainly yield an unending and always fruitful harvest.
I look forward to returning!
