An Extraordinary Day on Washington Island with Author Liza Wiemer
Deadline Extended to Friday, April 22!
In November of 2015, Liza Wiemer, author of the novel Hello?, visited Door County high schools, delivering impactful messages on perseverance, “the unique you,” and the power of storytelling that touched the lives of hundreds of Door County teens.
On Sunday, May 15, Write On brings Liza back for a very special day to work with Door County students. Students will travel to Washington Island and get a behind-the-scenes look at the locations that inspired her novel. They’ll explore Boyer’s Bluff, where Tricia lives and where the dramatic conclusion to Hello? takes place.
Throughout the day, students will take part in writing and art activities, as well as nature hikes. This will be an amazing and powerful day of art, exploration, personal growth and community.
This program is free but application is required. Transportation, lunch, and light refreshments will be provided. A limited number of students can be accommodated for this program. To be eligible, students are asked to submit the following application to Write On by Friday, April 22.
