Calling all poets! Watch the full moon as it rises over Newport State Park and compose a poem in response to the experience. You will have some time to both write and revise your poems. Send your poem to Write On by September 1 to be installed on the Poetry Trail. On Saturday, September 8, under the dark skies of the new moon, participants will gather to read their poems. Write On, Door County is pleased to partner again this season with Edgewood Orchard Galleries on Art/Speaks, a free writing lab encouraging people to write in response to the images on exhibit. Led by poet Francha Barnard, these 60-minute writing activities are perfect for both beginning and advanced writers in any genre. On Sunday, August 26, poets met at Newport State Park to write poems as the moon rose over the water. Poets had until the following Saturday, September 1, to revise and polish their poems and send them to Write On. The poems were then posted on the Poetry Trail.
