Midsummer’s Music asked Write On to invite poets who would create original poems based on music to be played at one of Midsummer’s concerts. Poets were sent a CD of music to be performed the night of their concert, but with no information as to the composers or other details. Poets were asked to write a poem or poems in response to the emotions evoked by the music they heard. Music and Poetry will take place at eleven of Midsummer’s concerts, occurring at different venues throughout the county. The featured poet for tonight’s concert is Gary Jones.
