From Harry Potter to The Fault In Our Stars: Writing a Successful Young Adult (YA) Novel

Sunday, March 5, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Embrace the teen in you! Studies have shown that 75% of all YA books are not only purchased by adults 18 and over, but are read by them, too. Through discussion and writing exercises, we’ll explore key elements necessary to writing a successful young adult novel.

Liza4-214x300 Liza Wiemer is the author of Hello?, a widely-acclaimed novel for young adults set in Door County. She has a degree in Education from UW-Madison and has published two nonfiction books for adults, as well as stories and articles in numerous publications. Liza spent a summer selling popcorn in a Koepsell’s popcorn wagon while listening to awesome music on the Summerfest grounds in Milwaukee. Besides being a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan, she is a readaholic, a romantic, and a lover of nature, crazy socks, and rooftops.
